If you don't follow me on Facebook, you are probably wondering what happened to One Night with Pops and Living with Pops & Daddy. Last month, Amazon blocked book one, stating that it breeched their content guidelines. I removed book two myself because if they were unhappy with book one then they would go bat-sh*t over book two.
Well, after contacting the almighty Zon and getting a slew of generic responses from the bots, I managed to get hold of an actual human, who told me I could reupload the book as a new one as long as I removed the offending content. Let's just say, they were not forthcoming about telling me what the offending content was, just that I need to fix it before republishing again. Thanks, Zon. So helpful.
Since then, I have paid for the cover alterations - because the titles could be the problem. And also, the blurbs have been rewritten - just in case those were problematic. It could also be the whole "Father-in-law" trope that's got the bots in a tizzy. If it is, then so be it. I'm not rewriting the whole damned story. I've gone through the process of elimination thanks to the lack of clarity given from KDP support. As I said, it wasn't book two they blocked (that had Tanya being double D'd by good ole' Dave and his dad.) It was book one, where she and Pops were one-on-one. I'm also not ruling out the possibility of it being reported by an offended reader who skipped past the trigger warnings.
Last year, it was banned on Patreon. They told me they didn't want pseudo incest on their platform, which is fair enough. Wattpad recently deleted it, too. But didn't say why. For those who aren't familiar with the term pseudo incest, it means related by marriage. So, that goes for in-laws, step siblings, and step parents, even though there is no blood relation and if they haven't known each other since childhood; they just don't want it on their platforms. Mine are all consenting adults who met as adults, but that still is something that is frowned upon. I'll tell you, they'll be going after all the step-brother books next.
So, I don't know what set the bots off, but I think I'll leave it a while before I reupload the new files. The new titles will be called Tempting Tanya, and Sharing Tanya, and the third installment will still be called Raising Polly. I've been proactive about moving past it without letting it set me back because I'm sick to the back teeth with apps and platforms policing what I write and pushing me ten steps back all the time. I'm way behind where I hoped I would be. But that's the reason why they disappeared from the Zon.
Cursed Beast.
Tex's story in the Knight Hawks Series.
The Amazon ban delayed me working on Raising Polly, but I'll resume that soon so I can finish the trilogy.
Yes. In 2027 - but I can't disclose where until I've been formally announced. All I can tell you is I've paid my deposit!
Yes! But with differences. The age gap will be shorter, and there will be more of a love-triangle between Caleb, Ruby, and Tyler.
Yes! On Kindle Unlimited and also paperback. No app is getting their hands on that series, so I'll be auditioning for audio, too.
Yes. Books that I put to one side will be finished going forward. They are still projects I intend to publish.
Yes. I'm more than happy to sign my books that have been purchased elsewhere.
I will reopen my store for UK readers and roll it out to international readers when the overseas postal prices decrease. At the moment, it's costing more to send my books abroad than they are worth in value. Novellas are not so bad but full-size books are heavy. Postage goes on weight, which incurs a hefty cost.
Lots of reasons. Health, conflicts with apps, family matters - kids come first, and generally being overwhelmed.
